Jayawardena was involved with the Mumbai Indians as their Head Coach but with former champions failing to secure a play-off spot, he will join the team earlier than expected.
Earlier, SLC had announced that Mahela Jayawardena will be with the Sri Lanka team for a 7-day period from 16th October to 23rd October.
But now, Sri Lankan Cricketers will have the service of Mahela Jayawardena for nearly two weeks.
