The Men in Blue, led by Rohit Sharma, got the better of defending champions Australia in their first warm-up fixture after some breathtaking death bowling from the returning Mohammed Shami. Although there were still a few question marks over the performances of some of the players, Sunil Gavaskar feels that India will make it to the final this time around along with reigning champions Australia.
“India, definitely. And because I am in Australia so I am going to say Australia,” Gavaskar said on Star Sports before the warm-up match between India and Australia on Monday.
Former Australian cricketer Tom Moody also gave his verdict on the finalists, listing Australia, England, India, and Pakistan as the semi-finalists, with India and Australia going all the way to the final of the 2022 T20 World Cup.
