
Star Sri Lanka all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga will not be representing the Jaffna Kings in the upcoming LPL series.
Wanindu Hasaranga will be representing the Kandy Warriors franchise this season.
Wanindu Hasaranga played a key role in the Jaffna Kings winning the LPL title in 2020 and 2021.
In the inaugural LPL tournament in 2020, Wanindu Hasaranga was the highest wicket-taker with 17 wickets in 10 matches, and in the next tournament in 2022, Hasaranga secured 11 wickets in 10 matches.
Wanindu Hasaranga will also be joined by Chamika Karunaratne this season.
Kandy has retained Batting all-rounder Kamindu Mendis and has also signed West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite and Australian spinner Chris Green.
The Lanka Premier League 2022 is scheduled to commence in the latter part of July, with Sri Lanka Cricket earlier announcing that the cricket tournament will take place from 31st July to 21st August.
The LPL is set to take place at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo and the Mahinda Rajapaksa Cricket Stadium in Hambantota. (NewsWire)
