Australia women pulled off an incredible victory in a drama filled final over, which saw the home side spared defeat as Beth Mooney hit an unbeaten century to keep their 26 match streak alive.

Set 275 for victory, Australia needed 13 off the final over to keep their 25 match unbeaten streak alive.

Their hopes appeared all but gone as Nicola Carey hit a full toss straight to mid-wicket with three runs needed off the final ball.

But after a long delay, the third umpire deemed the ball delivered by opening bowler Jhulan Goswami was over waist height and, as such, was shown a no ball. The reprieve left Australia requiring just two runs.

Carey, who came to the crease at 5-178, struck the full-pitched delivery well to long-on but Mooney, who stood out in the middle for the entire 100 overs, had enough in the tank to scamper through to complete the second run.

The five-wicket victory was Australia’s highest run chase during their incredible 26 match winning streak and their most remarkable.
