Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) media assistant Chanaka Silva has passed away due to a sudden illness.
“So sad to hear that my trusted Media Assistant Chanaka Silva has passed away this evening. Thank you for all the support you gave me during my 5 year stint at the SLC. We were such a great team & our media friends will vouch for it. Rest In Peace my friend & let’s meet on the other side,” former Sri Lanka Cricket Media Manager Rajith Fernando tweeted.
Chanaka Silva played a key role in handling media related work of Sri Lanka Cricket and the cricketers.
He was lately assigned to the Surrey Cricket ground in Maggona by Sri Lanka Cricket.
Chanaka Silva was in his early 40s at the time of his demise.
A PCR test is scheduled to be conducted to ascertain if he had contracted Covid-19. (CricWire)
