Sri Lanka’s Dinesh Priyantha Herath set a new World record in the Men’s Javelin Throw – F46 event with a record throw of 67.79m to win Gold at the Paralympic Games 2020 in Tokyo, Japan. India’s Devendra Jhajharia won the silver medal while Sundar Singh Gurjar won the bronze medal.

Silver medalist Devendra Jhajharia, who is considered as India’s greatest Paralympian, winner of the 2016 event was scene congratulating Dinesh after his throw. Devendra slowly jogged towards Dinesh with outstretched arms, hugging him and congratulating him, showing the beauty of the sport, the sporting spirit and emphasising the fact that Paralympic athletes constantly inspire and excite the world.
