Second Sri Lankan cricketer signs to participate in Everest Premier League

Sri Lanka cricketer Seekuge Prasanna will participate in the upcoming season of the Everest Premier League to be held in Nepal.

He becomes the second Sri Lankan cricketer to participate in the cricket tournament and will represent the Chitwan Tigers.

“Seekkuge (Prasanna) is a player with enormous quality. His bowling & batting, both can change the course of a match. A must have match-winner in any side. His experience all around the world will further strengthen Chitwan Tigers’ case for the trophy. He will be a value addition to our side. Looking forward to enjoy him trading skills in Nepal’s premier sports event EPL,” the owner of Chitwan Tigers Kishor Bhattarai said.

Earlier, Sri Lanka wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Chandimal was roped in by franchise team Bhairahawa Gladiators for the Everest Premier League.

The 31-year-old will join hands with Sharad Vesawkar, captain of the Gladiators team and former Sri Lankan Coach Pubudu Dassanayake who will join the Gladiators team as the Head Coach.

The Everest Premier League 2021 is set to commence on September 25 and will be played until October 9. (CricWire)
