Several Sri Lankan cricketers who returned from England have signed the tour contract given by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) for the India tour.
The SLC deadline ended at 8 PM today and according to team sources, nearly 10 crickters who were in the England squad have signed the contract.
Other cricketers have agreed to sign central contracts, but the SLC has reportedly insisted that they will be only offered tour contracts at the moment.
Anyone failing to sign tour contracts would be excluded from selection for the home series against India, starting on July 13, SLC Chief Shammi Silva told NewsWire earlier today.
“Contract dispute continues. 7 players have signed the tour contract. Others want to sign the central contract. SLC wants them to sign tour contract first and make an appeal as they have previously refused to sign. Time given till tomorrow morning” Sports Journalist Champika Fernando said.
Sri Lanka Cricket had provided the requested individual evaluation details for players but players had raised concerns over how the points were allocated. (NewsWire)
