Second edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) is set to under go from 30th July to 22nd August.
Speaking to Hari TV on the preparations, LPL Tournament Director Ravin Wickramaratne confirmed that tournament will go ahead as scheduled amidst the Covid Situation in the country.
He said that the registration of players for the tournament starts tomorrow (19th June) and expect to complete the player draft early July.
Commenting on the venue for the 2021 edition, “With regard to the venue, we wanted to keep the tournament in three venues earlier but we’ve now changed the stance and decided to keep it in Hambantota like in last year so that we can have secure bio bubble’ he said.
When asked about the owners and sponsorships of the tournament, he said event holder Dubai-based IPG (Innovation Production Group is working with relevant parties on that and certain owners have shown interest to continue the franchises they had last year.
