Kiwis look for elusive Test Series win in England

In a major blow for New Zealand, captain Kane Williamson will miss the 2nd Test against England which is scheduled to be played tomorrow (10th June ), due to a shoulder injury.

With the recently concluded drawn Test Match at Lords, New Zealand missed out on an opportunity to beat England In England. A washed out 3rd day of the Test might have hindered New Zealand’s possible chances of pushing for victory.

With the first Test drawn, the Kiwis can take another shot at a win in the 2nd Test match in Birmingham. Winning the 2nd match will give them a ‘rare’ achievement of winning a Test series against England in England.

Beating England in their own backyard in a Test series is harder than it sounds. Since Sri Lanka’s famous series win against the Englishmen in 2014, No visiting team has been able to win a Test series against England at home. That is 7 years and 12 bilateral Test series.
