Galle Gladiator star Azam Khan has earned his maiden Pakistan call-up as he is named in the Pakistan T20 squad against England and West Indies.
He has been on the radar of selectors from the last year, but was asked to trim his nearly 130-kilo weight before being considered. Azam, the son of ex-skipper Moin Khan, claims to have lost about 30 kilos in the past 12 months. He was instrumental in bringing Galle Gladiators to the finals of the Lanka Premier league last year.
His Galle Gladiators teammate Sri Lankan cricketer Bhanuka Rajapaksha wished him for his success.
Congratulations @MAzamKhan45 on being called up to the national side!, Good luck and enjoy the moment.❤️

Unreal feeling right now.
Literally overwhelmed!
Representing your country is the ultimate goal of any professional athlete.
I want to thank both my supporters and critics for motivating me throughout my journey.
Work hard and dream big.
