No comeback for AB de Villiers – Cricket South Africa confirms

Former South Africa cricketer AB de Villiers will not make a comeback, Cricket South Africa (CSA) has said in a statement.

Previously, It was speculated that AB might make a come back into international cricket, at least in the limited overs formats.

South Africa coach Mark Boucher as well as de Villiers himself had made comments on previous occasions which suggested that discussions may be going on for a possible return to international cricket for the superstar batsman. 

CSA today (18) announced the South Africa squad to take part in the West Indies tour, where the Proteas are scheduled to play 2 Tests and 5 T20Is. In a press release, it clarified that discussions with AB de Villiers ended with his confirmation that he is not going to play for his country again.

AB de Villiers, pet named ‘Mr.360’ known for his ability to play unorthodox shots around the ground, retired from International cricket in 2018, ahead of the 2019 ICC World Cup. He currently holds the fastest 50 and fastest 100 ODI records under his name.
