Former Bangladesh captain and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is set to return at No.3 in the upcoming three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka are scheduled to play 3 ODIs in Dhaka, with the First ODI to be played on the 23rd May.
Bangladesh’s team management decided to demote Shakib down the batting order in his comeback ODI series after the ban against West Indies. This move was reportedly to provide experience down the order. However, the ploy did not workout as his replacement at No.3 Nazmul Hossain failed to seize the opportunity.
“Shakib will bat at No.3 against Sri Lanka. That is the best place for him and we feel he will have the time to settle down before launching in the middle.” Minhajul Abedin, the Bangladesh chief selector said on Friday (14th )
